Home School Families
February is home school month at the David Wills House. This new National Park Service museum focuses on the Wills family, their role in the aftermath of the battle of Gettysburg and the historic visit of President Abraham Lincoln and his immortal Gettysburg Address. On February 11, 18 and 26, the museum will feature special presentations by costumed docents who will explore a variety of topics geared at youth and families. These topics include:
·         Toys & Games of the Civil War
·         Children’s lives during the Civil War
·         Education in the 1860’s
·         Popular Music of the time
·         Banjo Construction
·         The Life of Robert E. Lee
·         Mrs. Lee and the Lee children
·         Family life in the Confederacy
Experiences will take place on the hour and half hour from 1-3 PM.  To find out more information on specific program dates, educational information and reference materials, be sure to check out the museum website, www.DavidWillsHouse.org. Home School families will receive 25% off their admission throughout the month of February.   The museum is open Friday-Sunday 10 AM -5 PM.
